AI / Tech Twitter Starter Pack: Who To Follow For Claude Code And AI

The accounts and podcasts that turn X from a default-junk feed into the canonical place to follow Claude Code, AI agents, and developer tooling.

AI moved fast enough that the canonical feed for what's happening isn't a newsletter, a Substack, or a podcast. It's a slice of X. Anthropic's research team posts there. OpenAI engineers post there. The people building the next agent framework are arguing about it there in real time. If you're trying to be early on Claude Code, AI agents, or developer tooling, you need to be reading that feed daily.

The catch: a fresh X account's default feed is mostly junk. Politics, fight videos, rage bait. Until you tune the algorithm, you'll bounce off thinking the platform is useless. So I'm giving you the starter pack I'd hand to a friend: who to follow, what to do once you're following them, and the two podcasts that cover everything you missed while you were sleeping.

How To Tune The Algorithm In One Session

X's algorithm is a likes-and-engagement machine. The fastest way to make your feed good is to like things liberally for one focused session. Likes are private, so you can heart things shamelessly without it being a public signal. The algorithm just uses it to learn what to push.

One twenty-minute session of going through the accounts below and liking anything that looks interesting will reshape your For You tab for weeks. If you start getting fight videos or other nonsense, hit the three dots on the post and click "Not interested" + keep liking good content. The algo cleans up faster than you'd expect.

AI Coding (Start Here)

These are the three accounts I'd follow first if you're trying to learn Claude Code, AI agents, or how serious operators are using these tools day-to-day. Small list on purpose.

Two Podcasts To Catch Up On Everything You Missed

If you don't have time to scroll daily, these two cover the ground X covers, in audio:

The Wider Tech / AI / Founder List

These are the accounts that make the rest of the feed worth reading. Founders, VCs, builders, researchers, and a few essential operators. Don't feel like you have to follow them all in one go. Skim, follow the ones that catch your eye, like a few of their recent posts, and let the algorithm pull the rest into your For You tab.

What To Do With This Feed

Once your feed is tuned, here's the daily rhythm I'd recommend. Open X for ten minutes a day, max. Scroll, like, and bookmark. Bookmarks are where the value lives: anything you actually want to come back to (a model release, a prompt technique, a thread about an agent pattern), bookmark it.

Then process bookmarks once a week instead of trying to act on them in the moment. I built a workflow that pulls my X bookmarks and turns them into todos and writeups, so the bookmarking habit actually compounds instead of becoming another graveyard. Even without that, just having a bookmark list to skim Sunday night is a huge upgrade over trying to doom-scroll-and-remember.

One Last Thing

The point of the starter pack isn't to follow the most accounts. It's to escape the default For You tab and replace it with a feed that actually teaches you something. Twenty minutes of liking, three or four follows, and you're there.

Once you're reading the right feed, the rest of the AI ecosystem stops feeling like a fire hose and starts feeling like a place you have a seat at. That's the real unlock.
